Why Axe_123 suddenly disappeared of the face of h2g2
Robert Started conversation Dec 14, 2001
Hi ppl,
I'm just writing this to ask the powers that be if I could have my position as a Subeditor back after my sudden disappearence off of the face of the earth about, ooh..., two months ago, or whatever it was. I really am sorry for any problems which I might have caused to people, but when you have a very nasty conversation with your System Administrator, you don't tend to be allowed to go on the intenet for a while .
Anyway, like I said, it seems that I've lost my position as a Subeditor (the badge has gone off of my personal page and I'm not on the big list of subeditors), so if you could please un-demote me?
Thx

Being a Subeditor isn't a promotion. It's like becoming a shaman, a link to the spirit-world of h2g2, where the real magic takes place. Similarly, not being one (or being not one) isn't a demotion, because there could be no greater blessing than to be granted the free time to play an active role in the h2g2 community at large.

Hi Axe_123,
Welcome back - always nice to see people return!
For some reason, I can't seem to find a record of your being a Sub anywhere - was it under a different username/number?

I don't think so, then again, it was a few months ago so I might be wrong... I'll just go off and check the name on some of the entries that I edited...

An yes, my Researcher name was "404 "File Not Found" (SUB, 40+2/3+28=42)". Sorry about that.

Hmm. I don't seem to have got it. Could you try resending it again?

Ah - maybe you're unaware that entries for subbing are no longer sent out by email - now they turn up on your personal space, and you have an 'Edit Entry' button and a 'Return to Editors' button for when you've finished. All very flashy.
Let me know if you have any problems with them.

Ohh, very high-tech. Score one up for whoever decided not to let my editing rely on my school's lousy SMTP server (although I'm sure they had a more important reason). Things certainly have changed!
Thanks a lot for all of your help ppl! I'll get subbing right away.
