India refers to an experiment gone out of control. The
experiment was started off to test the effect of higher intelligence on
the otherwise clueless humans. The initial results that came in were
actually encouraging, and the results from the initial studies were
then even transfered to other test cases elsewhere on earth. It was
assumed that the experiment was under control, and saved away as part
of the research reports.
The research, however, forgot to count the effect of different
experiment subjects interacting with each other. The result of
these interactions resulted in unexpected reactions, and documents
report that a unique way of fighting was evolved where you join your
enemy in hurting yourself, thus confusing the enemy as to who they
were really fighting. This evoked the interest of researchers again,
and new experiments were proposed for these subjects. The research
groups suffered severe infighting over these, and it was finally
decided to divide the subjects and try several experiments at the same
time. This idea was widely acclaimed and was tried again on several
parts of Earth. Its success was recently published in The Conference
on Experiments with Artificial Sub-Intelligence, and is now proposed
for several other experiments elsewhere too.

It is believed that disruption again came about recently in the
experiment dealing with mainland India, when two of the principle
researchers had a fight over whose name should appear first on a
common publication. For the past twenty five Earth years, the research
group on India has increased ten fold in size. This has resulted in
increase of the number of subjects in the experiment, as well as the
number of research groups working on themes related to India. Apart
from occasional successes, the experiments have lost direction, and
are beginning to lose their funding. This, in turn, has resulted in
many experiments being tried in rapid succession, often without prior
analysis. There was a recent research that has predicted an
uncontrolled explosion reaction, that may disrupt experiments
elsewhere on Earth too. Another research claimed that increase in the
number of subjects in India has resulted in improper distribution of
mass around Earth, and may cause it to spin out of its well behaved
planetary system. No solution has been proposed yet, but one is
awaited eagerly in many research circles as India remains a unique
problem for thinkers across the Universe.
