You can certainly suggest specific shops and places -- have you had a chance to read some of the entries other people have written about towns? Many of them do. The key is simply not to turn your entry into an ad, but to try and remain objective.

I'd actually like to see a bit more specific information on what there is to do in town, not to mention what you mean by "Illuminati types."

I once passed through Jackson Hole, while driving from the west coast to the east coast, having lost my wallet in Seattle. No wallet = no ID = no driver's license in my possession at the time. I got pulled over by the local police. They took my information and ran it through... something... to try to confirm my identity and check for wants, warrents, etc.

Three hours later, there was still no response from... whatever it was. (This was in the early 1970s.) Cop looks at me and says, "You really got a driver's license?"

I reiterate that I do.

Cop says "This dXmn pony express takes forever. Get out of here."

I get.

I've kinda liked Jackson Hole ever since then. Second nicest law enforcement types I've run across.

The nicest was the Texas Ranger who picked me up hitch-hiking and gave me a 100 mile ride without questioning me or running my ID. Just another ride. Just happened to be in a marked police car.
