New Years Eve Parties

However, other, more popular, new years eve parties are slightly different. Here, many people are usually packed into a small room, with load, usually dance, music playing. Many of the people do not know each other and are meeting for the first time. Well, perhaps meeting is a strong word. At parties such as these, the people involved can usually not see each other too well, due to poor lighting and/or large amounts of alchohol. The climax of the evening is when the clock strikes 12. At this point, the party-goers are forced to frantically look around the room for anyone to kiss, usually a person of the opposite sex. When you add the alchohol and/or poor lighting to the equation, mistakes are frequently made when choosing the partner. Mistakes that you may well regret come the morning.
There are also people who are not invited to any new years eve parties and are forced to spend the time at home, usually with their family. Although these people do not have to contend with the poor lighting, alchohol and...mistakes, they often feel like they are missing out. The truth, however, is that they are actually having a better new years eve than thier partying friends as, come the morning, they will not have a headache the size of a small country. They also will not have to deal with the...mistakes.
