The Hidden Fortress

1 Conversation

The Hidden Fortress, a Japanese movie dating back to 1958, is in fact much more than it seems. A complex movie about wealth and warfare, it also happened to be the inspiration for "Star Wars", directed by George Lucas in 1977. This includes the character of Darth Vader, who was based on a samurai from the movie. The Hidden Fortress was directed by Akira Kurosawa. It can still be obtained from Kit Parker Films. It also stars Toshiro Mifune, a well-known Japanese actor.
