A Plausable Theory on 42

0 Conversations

I was talking to a mate of mine the other day about 42 because I was telling him I was doing my senior thesis in English on the philosophical and theological characteristics of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and he said his philosophy on 42 which I am thoroughly convinced that it actually could quite possibly be true.

Think of life, the universe, and everything as being on a number system. Negative numbers are chaos and positive numbers are order. In life there can not be more chaos or more order because there always has to be a balance point, this balance point is 42 and living organisms strive throughout life to reach this point. In life though there is that constant of order and disorder that goes in a cycle, from order comes disorder and from disorder comes order and it is difficult in life to reach the fulcrum that is 42.

After my friend told me this I related it to my theories on death (death only comes when all in life you truely wanted to accomplish is accomplished)and I started thinking what if you only die when you reach that fulcrum of 42 because if you think about it, if one reaches what living creatures strive for there is no other reason to live. Of course these are just theories and I could be incredibly wrong but it's just a thought after all.
