Germany - misunderstood or definitely boring

2 Conversations

After reading the entries about Germany I hereby would like to say a few more things regarding my home country:

I'm East German and think that West Germans were also suppressed for 40 years, they just had more fun during this time...

Anyway, Germany is not all gruesome and not eberybody has a moustache and listens to Humptata music. Whenever I ask people which parts they have actually seen, they got either hammered in Munich or visited Stuttgart or Berlin.
It's like judging the US by going to California and New York or the UK by London and Edinborough.

For instance, I'm from Leipzig in Saxony and think it's a great place, friendly people and lots of cool pubs that are open for a decent amount of time (about 24 hours a day). People have a great laugh and it's very lively there. I know quite a few foreigners who have chosen to live there.
