These days it seems everyone is in favor of raising the minimum wage. This is quite understandable, I mean, I'm sure we'd all like just a bit more cash. But when we get our way, companies are forced to charge more and more for their products so they will have the money to pay their workers. Not only the minimun wage workers. Oh no! These days no self-respecting being could be bothered to work for minimum wage. After all, we're all far too important and highly skilled and we've all spent far too much for our college educations and now we have far too many student loans to pay off so that no one could expect us to survive on whatever the current minimum wage is. Then we all want more bonuses, more sick days, more holidays, more insuance policies, we want to feel that we're actually worth something to the company. Hence, companies have to charge even more for their products. Our workers' time and our merchandise is steadily becoming more and more valuable but it's odd, because I never noticed that gas was taking me any farther, that I was able to get work done any faster, or that the moon has begun shining more brightly. I guess it just sort of crept up on me. I hope you don't get the idea that I have a problem with inflation because I think it's a wonderful idea. After all, once we get to the point where money is worth less than the paper it's printed on, we'll be putting counterfeiters right out of business.
