Well I normally build the Great Library. That gives me nearly all the technology I want for free (and it's not cheating ).

It doesn't work forever, y'know... And that was not cheating... (it's not my fault that civ1 had that loophole)

I know, but it gives me enough time at the start of the game to build up my cities while not having to worry about scientific research so much.
And it is cheating, that's why they got rid of it in the later games.

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've therefore moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.
If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.
Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!

"In November 2005 Civilization IV is coming. It has more world leaders, more technologies and an all-new game engine. It even has 3D graphics and, for the first time, formal religion as a game element. STAY AWAY from this game at all costs. You will likely be powerless to its extreme addictive properties once exposed. If you are having Civ “urges”, call your CivAnon sponsor immediately. If you are not already a member, contact your local CivAnon chapter for help."
Me want. Me WANT!!!

Because it's not built yet?
From the teaser it looks a lot like 'Rome: Total War' without the real-time strategy parts.
