A Conversation for UK General and Local Elections 2005
JOKE!!!

I had intended that my "Royal Option" topic would be my only contribution here. However I made the mistake of reading the "Independent" topic!
What a joke this whole parliamentary system is! Vote for someone who you don't want to win, to stop someone else you don't want to win from winning so that someone else you don't want to win might get a cryptic message of your dissatisfaction! What a farce!
It just highlights what an abysmal shower of representatives we have and worse still how the premise of saying and voting for what you believe in has been been sold down the sad political river!
Like someone else said "you deserve what you get"!
"and pray that there's intelligent life somewhere up in space, coz there's bugger all down here on earth"! (Monty Python "Galaxy" song)

You've put it a lot more eloquently than I could krisdrum - and I agree with you.
AND the Python lyrics!

In that case Novo, I'll have a and a hard hat, please.
Would you believe I STILL have not received my polling card thru the post?
And due to quite a severe operation/illness/convalescence I really haven't had the energy or organisational skills to chase up.
Not whinging - I shall ensure I shall phone up the (M'phhh) party (the party I'm NOT voting for!) and ask for a lift down to the Polling Station in their car tomorrow!

Of the people who rang the office to tell us that their poll card had not arrived, about 50% were not on the register of electors - which came as something of a shock to them. But poll cards are silly, small things which do get stuck to other stuff and lost in the post quite easily so hopefully you were able to vote, Evadne.
