Spinning Phone-Ins

I was struck by the number of callers to radio phone-in this morning who appreared very focussed on knocking Michael Howard on a single issue. It could be coincidence but they were very well versed in Labour talk and very articulate; and it occured to me that there could be some organisation behind such batches of calls. This is not to say that only one party might be using phone-ins in this way; but it prompts the question whether other listeners have noticed this and what the BBC and other stations can do to stop it.

Which phone-in? Was it on one of the stations with a Listen Again feature?

It's pretty much standard practice like the groups of labour protesters that showed up wherever Howard went yesterday

The programme was Jon Gaunt on his morning show on BBC London. By the way, no criticism of Gaunt argues well with all-comers (unlike some presenters who only really argue with Tories or extremists).
