Only Living Boy in New Cross

0 Conversations

A punk ode to an area of South East London by early nineties indie / punk / dance band Carter the Unstoppable Sex Machine (often shortened to Carter USM by fans). You can hear it on The 1992 Love Album

Thought to reference AIDS it is a song about leaving, moving on and saying goodbye and contains the touching lyric 'the comfort and the joy of feeling lost'

The title - and possibly the theme itself - is taken from an earlier Simon and Garfunkle song - Only Living Boy in New York.
