Scones

For this recipe you will require: 1 egg; 225g flour (self-raising); pinch of salt; 1.5 tablespoons caster suger; 50g butter; 5 tablespoons milk.

[1] Wash your hands (see: The Cold Virus and other Nasties). [2] Grease a baking tray. [3] Sift flour into a large bowl. Add butter which has been cubed and mix until consistency is of fine breadcrumbs. [4] Add suger, egg and enough milk to make a soft dough. [5] Place onto a floured surface and flatten mixture to 2.5cm thickness. [6] Cut shapes. [7] Place onto baking tray. [8] Bake in a preheated over @ 230c for 15 minutes.

Etiquette requires that these be consumed whilst fresh and are best served with a nice jam and tea. They make an excellent distraction from the futile task of contemplating the size of the universe (See: Space Travel, Propulsion, and other minutia).
