What is a mud? Well, a mud is a multi-user internet based computer game.
It is text based and access buy using "telnet". It is usually a role-playing game that
features monsters to kill, and equipment to find. And most importantly other people
to interact with. MUD's often involve a lot of human interaction, and this is the main
appeal as they allow for a greater involvement that a 'normal' computer game.
This interaction can come in the form of killing other players, or on non player-killer muds
(pk) talking to and helping other people.
One of the best mud's in my opinion (I play it so I'm biased) is Rivers Of
Mud (ROM) this can be accessed by using telnet to :
rom.org - port 9000
One warning though, as with all games that are rules attached. Make sure you read all of
them or you could find yourself in trouble :) have fun.
