Bonsai

1 Conversation

I have tried various species this year all from seed that I collected, some with quite a good success rate. The best by far is silver birch closly followed by alder, The latter being a bit of a surprise because of it's rapid growth rate as pointed out by John the gardener. The least successful was the crab apple due mainly to it's low resistance to disease. One thing I have learnt is that there are plenty of other species, given the right tecnique can be made into bonsai very easily.
