Melbourne, Australia

In case you were wondering, which you probably were, which is, probably, why you are here....
A little about Melbourne....
Melbourne, Australia has been sitting atop Port Phillip Bay and on the banks of the Yarra River for a smidgin over two hundred years. It's quaint little city of around 5 million, all of whom are sports and or gambling MAD. The city (I'm told) is much like England's...........San Francisco in arcitetture.
The weather is great.... most of the time.
And, unlike the sun, THE SURF IS ALWAYS UP!
Melbourne is a cosmopolitan city.. if you wanted to see every kind of face that exists on the planet (but can't afford the extreme expense, or the inconveeniance) you could always sit at a Swanston St cafe' for 10 mins and view them all for the price of a coffee that is illeagly good and without all that lost baggage.
Getting around is dead easy as one ticket will see you on a bus, train or tram all day. As opposed to easily dead if you walk in FRONT of a tram)You HAVE been warned! Trams are street going trains, usually two or three carrages long. So if by chance you step infront of one, it wont be able to haul it's some 87+ tonnes up much before the next stop. Turban driven taxi's menace the streets as they do in most civilised citys of today and car hire is both affordable and easy, except for the dreaded "hook" turn at intersections of the CBD. The hook turn is melbournes way of saving your life (by not letting you become "easily dead" inside your motor car) while making it completly obvious to everyone else, that your a tourist.
Things to do... Hmmmmm.. Lets just say that no matter what floats your boat, you will find a great many other people doing it too. Melbounians are defanitly not your "indoorsy" type and are out and about doing whatever it is that floats their boat.
All the arts are well catered for, many of the worlds longest runs in the thearter belong to Melbourne, not only for the quality of the productions, but for the thearters themselves which are simply, stunning....
Stay tuned more to come
