Oh traitorous skin,

once taut

in full-blown youth

now, paper-thin

pale parchment.

The mirror

affords me no secrets.

Answering my plea

with mocking

parody of

once upon a time.

'Same ass, same tits, but look love, who are you trying to kid?'

Lines and scars.

Evidence of a life.

A girl lived

in this skin once.

A woman resided here

in her prime.

Ah draw the veil

now and look no more.

Inside this flesh

beats a good heart.
