a more traditional margarita.
1 1/2 ounces tequila
1/2 ounce triple sec
1 1/2 ounces lime juice
basically, you just mix them in a shaker, and away you go.
i don't really like these margaritas.
these are the ones i like. me and my girlfriend have spent months refining this drink to our liking. it's a sweeter, smoother version.
1 tin frozen lime concentrate
a lot of teqila
less then a lot of triple sec
some grand marnier
a lot of ice
1 blender.
take the lime concentrate and put it in the blender. then take the tin, and fill it nearly full with tequila. pour that tequila in. take the tin again, and fill it about half way with triple sec. pour that in. blend for a few second to mix it. then top up the blender with ice, (maybe not all the way, depending on the size of your blender, it should look like one part liquid, to 2 parts ice, remembering that the ice has a lot of space in it). blend until it's as smooth or chunky as you like it. pour into glasses and put a dash (around 1/4 ounce) of grand marnier in each glass, and bob's your uncle.
-often as the night goes on, the use of the tin for measurement goes out the window and is replaced by counting (eg long three count of tequila, short two count of triple sec). if the night goes on long enough, it's just done by eyeballing, and by then, our reaction time is pretty bad.
-feeling blue? if you are sub in blue curaco (badly spelt) for the triple sec, it changes the flavour, but it's still pleasant. try varying the colour by screwing around with mixtures of the blue stuff and triple sec, and also by changing between gold and blanco tequila.
-if availible those margarita glasses are nice, so are paper umbrellas, and nothing beats jimmy buffet (wasted away again in margaritaville,,,,,,,,,looking for my, lost shaker of salt)
