A gripey sort of question

Hi, this probably isn't the place.... but maybe someone can answer this anyway: (sorry, it's a bit of a gripe)
Given the back-log of entries, and given that the guidelines specifically say to check if another entry has the same or very similar subject matter, is it really necessary to have an entry on Guido Fawkes and on Bonfire Night? (They're both good and informative, but cover essentially the same ground). I think h2g2 is great, but the time spent editing and whatever to one of these entries might better have been spent on getting some of the back-log cleared.
Sorry 'bout that. But I feel a lot better now I have shared it with you lot.

Hi,
My personal opinion is that there should be separate entries for both Guy Fawkes and Bonfire Night. I think that though both are closely related (and therefore unavoidably cover some of the same things), they complement each other quite well.
As for the backlog - in the few short weeks that the new scheme has started, the busy Sub-eds have managed to halve the length of the old list. The sheer volume of submitted entries means that there will always be a delay between approval and the entry appearing in the edited guide.
Give the new system a chance to settle down - Eventually we scouts will be putting forward between 5 and 10 entries a day for editing and inclusion. It doesn't sound a huge quantity, but it will be enough to keep the peer review list down to an acceptable length, giving everybody time to comment on the entries on said list. If this ends up not being the case, I'm sure that the powers that be will increase the number of entries submitted by the scouts accordingly.
Hope this is of some use
- Adam
