The Ferry Tavern, Penketh
Created | Updated Jan 9, 2005
Penketh- a suburb of Warrington which grew out of a village and contains very little except for hairdressers, public houses and convenience stores. However, one of the seven pubs in or just outside Penketh stands out from all the others.
While other pubs are located on busy main roads, the Ferry Tavern is different. Locoated between the River Mersey and the Sankey-St Helens Canal, and also the otehr side of a railway line from the rest of Penketh, the pub is a little hard to get to. No main road, no onsite car park. There is a car park, but it is the other side of the canal and railway line from the pub.
