Traction isn't suitable for all neck problems because the cervical spine holds the nerves and blood supply for your brain.
In my case it's not an option but a physiotherapist should be able to advise you GB.

Thanks Fizzy
My advised me to get some massage (can't massage my own neck)
There's this massage parlour in Grimsby, but when I rang up the receptionist kept going on about special rates and "extras" so I didn't bother.

Ask your GP to refer you for physio - they'll give you a massage, laser, exercises or whatever it needs - our physios can provide acupunture, hydrotherapy and even a personal trainer at the gym, so massage shouldn't be a problem.
Over here a physio referral has to come from the GP they don't accept self-referral, so give him/her a ring and tell them what you need.

my mother has trained in massage and I have had a massage, reiki, indian head massage and reflexology done at a (free) open day. All these things are expensive because of the oils, hire of the place they use etc but can make you feel great. I'm currently learning yoga but unsure whether I should have consulted a doctor first.
Anyway, back to the entry. It's sure looking good.

This reminded me of that James Bond film where the bad guy leaves 007 on a sort of physiotherapy rack...
Surely the advice should be for your partner not to leave the house while you're suspended?
What if you slip and the rope goes round your throat?
I get some neck pain, but it's not *that* bad...

To be honest, getting out of the device yourself is a lot easier than getting into it - just grab the rope above your head, slowly take the weight, then wriggle out of the harness. Here's a picture of one, although designs vary and mine had a tighter harness than this: http://www.physioroom.com/product/Overdoor_Traction_Kit/2048/36810.html
You shouldn't get the thing around your throat - it's not like a noose.

For that one, you might need a no entry sign on the other side of the door...

Or suggest to use a closet door, one that won't be opened from the other side.
The title did make me wince a bit, but the link you provided also points out that it is for your neck, not another cervix, so I would leave your intro as it is.

Thanks all
Closet door mentioned, and I've removed the robotic dancing comment at the end (because I didn't like it).
Any more?

Not from me but I'm intrigued to see whether there will be a picture with this when it's finished and what it will look like. I've started doing photography voluntarily and have already had one of my pics published I'd to do more.... rant over back to Icy

I don't have one to take a picture of, unfortunately, so I doubt it will get one.
Have you joined the h2g2 Photographers, Opti? See A15846438 if you're interested.
