Ilfracombe

Ilfracombe; My home town, colloqually known as the under-aged drinking capital of Devon, official home of the second worst cinema in Britan. Ilfracombe sits on the north devon coast, this victorian holliday resort has reasantly started falling into disrepair. Tourists now choose to visit the far nicer seaside resort of Woolacombe, its idilic two mile long white sand beach stealing tourists from the crumbling peir of Ilfracombe. High unemployment and a beach next to sewage pipe where raw sewage is pumped directly into the harbour makes this tourist spot less than perfect.
Nice for a day trip, in summer the hot sticky dirty streets are packed with tourists (Grocles) looking for a bit of counrty side or English son.
Take my advice, Ilfracombe is not worth more than an arfter noon's visit, If you want sun and sand go to Woolacombe, if you "quaint rural devon" go to the small villiage of Lynmouth.
If you do decide to visit Ilfracombe make sure you visit the two only points of Interest, the original habour, reminding you this was origanally a fishing village; And the Landmark thearter/cinema, known as Madonas Bra, this contraversal building certanly lives up to its name as it towers over the town.
