I've applied ages ago on the volunteer page, but only Mikey has got back to me! I'm always hanging around PR but feel I could do a bit more with the extra responsibilty.... maybe it's because I only arrived here in October!

It's probably more likely that there either aren't any gaps in the Scout roster, or that they haven't got around to actively recruiting.
In the meantime, carry on what you're already doing

That would mean that they haven't got around to saying that they're not recruiting any longer.
They will be recruiting again, of this you can be assured. My advise would be to carry on doing what you're doing, as it is breath of fresh air through PR and very nice to have
