Bloody Colchester, eh?

My only consolation is that Ormy and Orcus both agreed with me...

Oh balls.

This is looking like a really embarrassingly low score...

Well, I thought I'd missed this - been on holiday - but I still have four games on that fixture list (it's 5pm right now).

Man Utd 3-0 Aston Villa (Rooney)
Charlton 1-1 Wolves (Lita)

.. and two very very wild cards indeed... although, having been on holiday in Ireland, probably appropriate!

Cobh Ramblers 0-2 Cork (Mooney)
Galway Utd 1-3 Shamrock (Rice)

Well there's some heavy scoring going on as far as I can tell.

All those who predicted 2-0 to Utd... 2-0 at hald time... can't see it having a goalless 2nd half from what I'm seeing on Setanta.

Now I'll eat my words no doubt smiley - laugh

As I said to the other half on Saturday, 'that's the one and ONLY time you'll ever see me cheer at a Man U result'.

Fantasy football competitions have a bad side effect in twisting who you cheer for at times smiley - erm

Well that was a cracking success smiley - biggrin

The performances turned out pretty much exactly how I expected them to do. The folk who know what they are doing in this competition - Ormy (14 points), Orcus (13), riotact (18) - did really really well. The second tier players, the Pompeys as it were - Demon Drawer (11), me (13) - did pretty OK. Everyone else came in rather lower - B (5), Psycorp (6), Magwitch (7), McKay (9), me[Andy]g (7).

We had *four* scoring Full Houses - Orcus x2, myself and riotact.

We also had riotact getting all five of the results, w/l/d, correct; which would have been worth a pretty penny down the bookies had he gone off and laid a bet.

Yes, it was a right fncker to mark. But I think it was one of the best weeks we've ever had in FF history, and so it's something that I will repeat at least once in every future season.

So it leaves me with nothing more to say than: well done all, and in particular riotact with his positively blissful 18 points smiley - applausesmiley - magicsmiley - bubblysmiley - biggrin

Having done the foolish thing of picking my own team and the game I was going to be attending I can tell you when my chosen scored scored what turned out to be the winner I was mighty relieved.

riotact : like a phoenix from the ashes

shucks, t'weren't nuthin' folks...

the tough calls are when 11th place plays at 9th (who haven't won at home in a month)... one team shows 5 players with a handful of scores each, the other has a front man with 18... who is "doubtful" after picking up a knack the week before! when you can avoid those fixtures bob's your uncle.

one tip i probably shouldn't give: just as horses don't, football players (who are only slightly less barking than the nags) won't always play to form. but in the long run, you have to pretend they do, otherwise it's a fool's game. hunches... are for losers.

Yeah, I'd agree with that. Although it was nice to pick some nice easy 'dead certs'* and bag some points, I like it when the 'Desk picks some real nasty mid-table clashes that are hard to predict. Tricky is more interesting I find smiley - smiley

*As meatloaf would say though, 3 out of 5 aint bad smiley - winkeye
