The inspirational foodstuff of middle-aged Barry, who lives his life as a baked bean. Barry expresses his identity by wearing an orange jump-suit and cape, and painting his bald head to match his favourite food. As well as eating baked beans every day and bathing in them, Barry has legally changed his name to 'Captain Beany' and been issued a fresh passport to reflect his new identity. Besides being the favourite food of Captain Beany, baked beans are considered something of a national dish by the British in general, despite the fact that the bean cannot be grown within the country and the concept of baked beans is generally thought to have come out of Boston, Mass.
