Custer and his 'Clearing' of Montana

When you mention that on the 25th June the battle of Little Big Horn occured and Lieutentant-Colonel Custer was killed while 'clearing' Montana, what do you mean ? Was he picking up the rubbish left about by the native Americans or was his taking part in what today would be called ethnic cleansing. He wasn't called 'Squaw Killer' for nothing.
As somebody once said 'If we don't learn from our history then we will be condemed to repeat it'.

I agree on the last point but this forum is for short snippets of information and putting any thing that *might* be seen as inflamatory without backing up with a detailed explanation would be wrong. You only have to look at David Irving and those who refute the holocaust to see that. It is not a period of history that I know about and so would be unwilling to write about as I feel that that would not be right. Can you see my arguments?
But by posting your message you have registered your point which is good.

However if you want to write a revisionist piece on it and submit it for editing we would be delighted
