Gravesend

My home town, sunny Gravesend

Firstly, claim(s) to fame:

i. At one point (in time) Gravesend had the highest number of Pubs per capita or square yard of land or something in all of England, more on this later...
ii. Pocahontas died here (well on a boat, on the Thames, near here anyway)
iii. Suggestions ???

Things to do/see:

i. Pub related:

The George, Queen Street:
An excellent pub, not to big or expensive, a bit out of town but still near enough to Favourite Chicken for an 11:30 sortie. Recently refurbished, so there's now plently of room to play pool in the back.
Serves Heineken or Stella if you're feeling rich.

The Robert Pocock, Windmill Street (J.D.Wetherspoon):
Nice pub, centrally located, just round the corner from McDonald's. Probably the cheapest beer in town, and you can get food until 10 even on Friday/Saturday, if you get a bit peckish. Serves just about everything, it's a freehouse, but I reckon you can't go wrong with either Carling or Kronenbourg.

Ryan's Bar, Windmill Street:
Just go in and see Shaun, that's all I'm saying...

ii. Pocahontas related:

Nice statue in the gardens of St.George's Church, near the bus stop.

iii. Miscellaneous:

Bluewater shopping centre recently opened near here...lots of big shops/restaurants/cinema. Also LOTS of chavs.
