Why take the time to research such an obscure place as this? Cadarache! Nuclear fission! ITER project! any of that mean something to you if so read on, if not, read on anyway. If,as many of you will, you end up getting tranfered down to the sunny south and not to the north of Japan, a very cold and desolate place, best that you get a little background on how preparations are going for your arrival.I shall try to put over the local enthusiasm for adding zeros to house prices whilst planning to be as unwelcoming as possible so as to buy back their houses later. At this moment i think it would be a apt moment to insert the classic "Don't Panique",there's one English speaker here working for you which, due to a lack of Babel fish, is good news as since i've been living here i must admit that one hes not been overwhelmed by the number of people who speak anything other than French(and that with an accent which is already incoprehensible for the French from any other area, so wave goodbye to your hard earned "French for travellers" certificate) and in general have no intension of speaking any other langauge. At first view Vinon is a charming proveçale village nestling at the feet of two hills which sweep down to the Verdon and on to the plain, there's a waterfall and kayac course right in the middle of the village(even sounds lovely to me as i'm writing this),a superbly restored mill which serves as a cultural center with a 150 seat theater, 5 bars, 4 restaurants,3 hotels, market on Sundays and 4 hairdressers.Sounds great,no?(if your answer is yes re-read and notice how many hairdressers there are).
