You can identify a pinecone using three steps.
1. Is it brown?
Yes- go to step 2.
No- It is not a pinecone. Eat happily.

2. Does it smell... lets say, odd ?
Yes- Do not touch object. Leave area.
No- Go to step 3.

3. Is there a pine tree near? (Be sure to look carefully)
No- Sorry, its very unlikely this is a pinecone.
Yes- You have a pinecone!

The pinecone has claimed many lives. Caution must be used in dealing with any tree-made object. Leaves and branches of trees should also be avoided by any space traveler.
