You missed the bit about 'we spent so much over-budget on our Parliament that now Manchester can't have a Metrolink extension' 'the Act of Union was the best thing that ever happened to our economy yet we still have a national anthem proclaiming hatred of the English' and of course 'our MPs shafted English Uni students with top up fees, yet we don't have them up here!'
Thought you might be proud of those little achievements!
Psyc. (Obviously not bitter about his best mate running off and abandoning him to go to Edinburgh Uni instead of York)

*plants a grove of thistles for psyc to stumble through*
the act of union was in my oppinion one of the worst mistakes that this country made,
since then we have not been a nation but mearly a regon...
I beleve in my national anthum, without the scots you couldnt sing auld langs sine on new years.
yes our parlament went over budget but what you dont realise is that it was only the labour party who wanted a new building, I do not vote labour but the second biggest scotish party,
you can take your english ways and put them to some good use,
I know meny scots who are fed up of people like you complaining that we are too dependent on your contry without checking what things that scotland contributes to your economy. of course that would be too much to expect from some, I sugest that before you resort to saying all we provide is drunks you look at yourself, I bet you drink at times, I as a scot have never touched alcohol and wont do.
Yours,
Dr Anthea - proud Scot

Hit a nerve?
And I don't sing Auld Lang Syne, and the Scots have provided more than drunks. Many Leeds footballers for example...

a nerve... perhaps,
but then again I cant expect a sassanah to know anything about national pride now can I?

Pride? For a nation full of scousers, cockneys, geordies, mackems, brummies and other such abominations? I'm on the comittee for Mancunian independence!

It doesnt matter where you come from, you stay in Manchester long enough and it doesnt matter anymore. You can leave manchester *points to psyc* but theres enough old oasis running in those veins to bring you back soon enough

And The Stone Roses, James, Doves, The Buzzcocks. Face it, away from Scotland there's only The Proclaimers and transvestites to remind you of home, but we Mancs can go to any jukebox in the world and get a bit of nostalgia....

now now Psyc that was hardly worth writing was it...?

Its a prestegious and proud nation,
we have a national flower, two national flags, a national anthum
I am tempted to write scottish as a nationality on offical forms if only the burocrats would let me.
