Why do I need to learn to do whistling?
Whistling often comes in handy. From making a small tune to composing a master piece or even getting your border collie to herd sheep or cattle. It is a skill for life and it can be a very communal thing to do.
How do I Learn?
If you don't already know how to whistle then you must understand that whistling takes time, patience, and practice. You will not necessarily learn overnight, especially if you have been trying to whistle for some time now. We shall learn the easiest form of whistling for this article, other methods of whistling may be put here at later dates.
Lesson 1: You first must be able to control your mouth muscles, start by practicing kisses. Blow kisses to the wall, posters, anything you like, may sound silly, but this is the way you learn to whistle. Now while you are blowing kisses, breathe out though your mouth. If at first you don't succeed try relaxing your muscles more, tensing them more, or breathe in rather than out. Practice the one note you have for a while then move on to lesson 2.
lesson 2: Now you need to control your loudness, you can do this by increasing the blow or decreasing the blow, some may be able to breathe in and whistle as well, practice this for a while and continue on to lesson 3.
lesson 3: Now you know how to do the simple stuff, loudness is vert useful for controlling pitch as well, you can use your loudness control even sometimes to change note or key. Some may find breathing in to whistle is easier, or they can continue a song without having to breathe buy doing so. Increseing the width of your mouth ill allow you to change note and key.
Thats it for this method!
