A Conversation for Introducing... the Beeblecast!

Guidance - AV Submissions

AV will be the core of the Beeblecast, so ideally we'd like as much completed AV to be submitted as possible. None of us are professional film-makers, so don't be shy! Most diditals camera have a movie option, and the quality of these clips is generally good enough for the Internet; there's no need to use a webcam or camcorder if you don't have access to these.

The maximum running time of the whole Beeblecast is ten minutes, so as a rough guide clips should be anything up to minute long. This isn't set in stone, though - if you're creating a clip and need a bit longer, we'd rather you submitted it as you want it than try to squeeze it into an unreasonable time-frame. We do, however, reserve the right to trim any clips submitted; but we promise not to butcher your work. Please provide a text transcript of any narration on your clip, which we will turn into an article on your behalf. This is even more important if you're making a clip for part of your article rather than the whole thing.

Clips can be created any way you like - live action, animation, Flash, or anything else you can think of - but please submit them in an easily-interchangeable format. Mov, mpeg, mpeg4, vob and avi formats are all fine, and your software should be able to export your file into one of these.

Finally, we'll need people who are capable of making clips to help out with audio or text-only submissions, so your assistance would be valuable even if you don't feel inspiried to make a clip on your own!
