OK, first there's the razor I just used. If anyone who hates shaving as much as I do, hasn't tried the Mach 3 from Gillette, I highly recommend it.

Next, the Diperdo plane that I have a link to on my page is the most fun you can have flying something indoors(even more fun than the Rolling Paper Plane).

Get the idea? Anything goes. I hope this isn't too much like advertising for the H2G2. I just like to hear about well made and innovative things that are available.

Search revealed no similar entries(that I could see). I hope this is OK.

Another great product: Casio watches. I've never had one die on me, only once the battery died and the lady who tried to replace it screwed up the watch. I didn't bother trying to get a replacement, I had been in the store for an hour waiting for her and I just wanted out. The watch was 5 years old anyway, and pretty beat up.

Um - here's my first choice, then.

'Pilot' gel pens - these rollerball ink pens are very comfortable and smooth to write with, and don't blob all over the place. They also come in a huge range of shades, including metallic colours. Not that useful for writing cheques or notes to your boss, but they can help the creative processes when doodling smiley - winkeye

(I used to use a Rotring design pen with a 0.05cm nib to it; a little scratchy but the lines were beautifully precise...)

Sounds exquisite.

Another for me is Boxer Briefs, any brand(Hanes the best). Whoever came up with them is an underwear GENIUS. (wish it was I)

Replacing batteries in these is pretty straight forward as long as you remember to press the Rest button. Guess you got one of those assistants who sees people like me doing 45 watches an hour at times making it look so easy. and thought she could do it.

OPINION

Good idea Cloughie. Get other researchers to come on by and give thier examples. When you get the list up then it'll be ready to submit. Currently the pile is being gone through at some speed as my page is daily testifying. However get some collaboration. Check out Crusader and Sam on the h2g2 team for advice as to the best way to go about this.

Just call it instinct. The number of times though I had one of the other staff coem to me with a watch after they had opened it with some problem or other.

Usually the problem was because they hadn't studied the watch before using the knife or screwdriver.

here's another:

Wolverine 'Durashocks' workboots. They feel just like sneakers! I just bought my first pair(I've worn MANY other brands), and they kick ass!!! If you work hard on your feet, give them a shot.

Enough with the Watches. If you're in the UK, then the Guardian (Newspaper) is a very good buy on Fridays, because it comes with a supplement called The Editor, which is a digest of newspapers and magazines from all over the world. It has a section on commercial web sites, and another on free sites, which is where I discovered h2g2.

Actually the best things in life are free, because my newsagent gives me The Editor free on Friday nights. He's always got a couple of unsold copies of the Guardian, and he still gets his money back for an unsold paper if the supplements have fallen out.

This is not to say the Guardian is a bad paper. I sometimes buy it. Just not every day. I'm beginning to ramble here…
