Perhaps you could get them take out whatever it is that contravenes the house rules?

Nothing in it contravenes the house rules. I guess the writer just can't be bothered to reactivate the article

Hmmm - always though the "contravenes house rules" message was different to the "awaiting moderation" one. Or was that one just around about the time of the BBC taking over?

You may very well be correct. The article includes links to pictures of birds plus links to sound files featuring bird calls. This wasn't a problem previously - my link was to the raw Guide ML, not the page featuring said pictures and sounds - it probably is currently unacceptable.
I'll probably remove my link to it.
Incidently, the Aussie Birdlife article was posted by Bruce, h2g2's head unofficial technical guru, who, I suspect, would be up with the play.
