Here's a suggestion: make h2g2 fulfil its founder's original vision. Make it truly informative, topical, local, and accessible from any device with any kind of connectivity. Let's have more restaurant reviews, guides to places to go, events, whatever.
However, this means getting off one's arse and actually going out and writing about something other than hobbies, potted biogs of celebs and by-the-numbers analyses of songs that should never have been written in the first place. Being a Fielld Researcher means doing RESEARCH in the FIELD. So h2g2 should SUPPORT research IN THE FIELD by providing researchers with TOOLS for so doing.

Something to allow people to comment on their PDA's. Also a sort of working area where lots of people could knock together an emrbyonic entry and then promote it to the status of an entry that is suitable for PR. Perhaps a sort of Wiki?

"Also a sort of working area...."
Not another Wiki. Just part of h2g2 that works like one *during the initial stage of the collaborative writing process*.
