Some thorough research(actually thought experiments) have provided conclusive proof of why women desire commitment and men don't.
Imagine the pre-historic times.A man is physically strong and more capable of surviving in the harsh conditions than a woman, because he is able to more effectively fight off predators and procure food.This means that the man sees the woman as extra baggage in the already difficult struggle for survival and the woman sees the man as a means for more successful survival,or a means to actually not die.
This instinct has been passed on through the ages in a male-dominated society.But this will most certainly change in the next few million years.
