Huricane Season USA
Created | Updated Aug 13, 2004
Be my guest.
I am writing now, because it is raining. But this is more interesting rain than just a regular one. This is part of a hurricane.
Have no intention to write a study for Guide Entry at h2g2, because anybody who knows how to search on a computer can find very well written information about rain, and generally about weather.
However mankind still did not reach the status to predict weather with precision, and even more so: we have no control over weather related disasters.
If you don’t like the rain, than just think about those regions of the world where desperate humans bagging the sky to bring clouds which will open up for life giving blessing of a rain. In parts of Africa and many more places where desert condition is the way of living there would be no life without eventually rain coming around. In other words: without water there is no life, as we know it.
I happen to like the rain, of course with certain moderation. But that is not for a human to determine how much or when is going to rain? Well than might as well enjoy the beauty of the infinite variety of cloud formations where the rain is hanging over your head.
Clouds can be very entertaining, enjoyable but also frightening. What happens with them and in between them in high voltage electricity ultimately can kill you on the spot.
As an artist I painted many pictures just looking at clouds. Those paintings usually are attractive to humans, because they see something of part from their environment.
I also was a co-pilot flying a small aircraft. That sort of a flying called: “Weather flying”. The jets go above the “weather” as much as they could, but a small aircraft is flying in the weather in and out of clouds into rain, hail snow what ever comes in the way.
At this point I reached a very broad subject, and I will certainly come back to it in the future to write a lot more about those experiences: Flying the “friendly” skies, or just stay on the ground till the friendliness of the weather comes around.
At this time several airports are closed yet the hurricanes are still far way. But the weather is much bigger then the biggest jet. In hurricane season good idea to carry a sleeping bag with you, in case you would have to” wait out the weather.”
About the 2 big storms Bonnie and Charlie on the East coast of USA Aug. 2004 at this time is early to tell what will they do with their unpredictable nature. I am looking at the sky with restless clouds rolling in a hurry wondering: where are they going?
