Dual Core
Created | Updated Oct 26, 2007
Since the early 1980s, the processor speed of home computers has been getting faster and faster. But with the introduction of dual-core processing, home computers are going to become even quicker. For the last 30 years or so microprocessors have been getting more and more powerful. Blame that chap Gordon Moore. It was his law and there seems to be little movement to repeal it.As processors developed they got faster and smaller until something had to give.
back to the point.
If i am correct, dual core is 2 cores on one cpu, if this is the case why has it taken them do long to invent it. Then you've the Extremes. Well over £600 for an x6800 2.99GHz CPU. Why is it so much more expensive??? Its because the normal, lets say e6700 is locked to 2.66GHz while the Extreme range isnt, they are far more easier to Overclock!!
This is my 1st entry, so i wanna hear what people think
