Regarding the Croydon meet

Couldn't find the previous convo, so I'll start another.
Been to Dog and Bull, a real ale pub in Surrey Street. Their upstairs room in free on Sat 4th, for £10.
However unless you have more then 10 people coming, I think you can fit in their very nice beer garden, which saves £10 and it looks nicer!
The Rose and Crown also has a beer garden and it quite quiet on a Sat.
Can ask tomorrow (got moot tomorrow) at the Hogshead, but unless you have loads of people coming, you are probably better off elsewhere.
The beer garden option is also kinder on those of us who hate smoking.
Sorry it took so long, real life has been very demanding of late!

I can't guarantee how much room there will be, but it is very big. And its the real ale pub for Croydon and Sutton Real Ale Society, so the beer is good!
I gather then that booking the room for £10 is not worth it, if theres just a few of us?

So far theres only about 8/9 going, so no it's prolly not worth booking somewhere but there are a few pubs that are quiet on saturdays.. i quite like the sound of the Rose n Crown..

Havn't been in the Rose & Crown beer garden, but its beer isn't bad either.

It's years since I went to the Rose n Crown..but I think I've been in the beer garden ..I just thought it might be a bit quieter than the Dog N bull ..bt if they've got a bigger garden...

Try both!
My descriptions might be a bit confusing today, got a stinking cold, and my brains dissolved. Just right for running a moot tonight!
