...from the Game
I'll tell Neil to register, seems like he'll come sometimes now, I wasn't sure. In fact I din't know he whould come anyhow, I just told him that I was here, that was the reason why he came.

I told him, now it's up to him what he'll do. But he may not read my message until tomorrow or so, so you'll have to wait a bit.

Neil the Indefinite Posted May 5, 2005
Ok, so I am here, now what do you want with me?
I'm not sure if I count as a German speaker or a German pupil or a teacher or what have you
Tavaron drew my attention to the department and then I saw the word assosciation and I thought I'd post.
My number is U1473918.
Actually I'm not fluent in German, as Tavaron could testify.
So, what do you wish of me?
Neil

Don't ask me, I'm just the messenger.
*calls out loud "ANYBODY ELSE HERE?"*
You certainly are a speaker, but I'd say you are learner too.

Kat will be back tomorrow, she's on a plane home right now.
Neilitude, you could specify if you want to be listed as a learning researcher, learning/speaking researcher, or what. I don't think we need any more teachers, we'll only outnumber our pupils

Also werden wir den Kampf um die Schüler noch einmal verschieben...
So we will postpone the battle about the pupils...

Hey! I've registered as a learning researcher, but I've been on the speaking thread a bit too- should I be down as a speaking and learning researcher?

Tavaron da Quirm - Arts Editor Posted May 6, 2005
Da musst du auf die Chefin warten glaube ich, sie scheint aber derzeit nicht da zu sein.
You've got to wait for the boss I think, but she doesn't seem to be there at the moment.

Yes! Vamster's German is pretty good, (s)he should definitely be listed as speaking researcher as well.
(Vamster, are you female or male by the way? )

*YAWWWWNNN*
Okay I'm heeerrreee...may you all be forgiven for hoiking me up and about with jet-lag.
I'll add Neil tomorrow morning after I've slept and won't throw a tantrum at the coding.
Vamster you can't be counted as a speaker. A speaker is someone who is definitely more fluent...you know? So someone who has been studying a language for 5 years and is taking a degree in it...would be a speaking researcher. The teachers are all speaking reseachers...us noggins who only have the GCSE or Alevel...are not speaking

Why are you registered as a speaking researcher then, Kat?

Kat - From H2G2 Posted May 6, 2005
Am I?? Shucks I thought I changed that ages ago when I prodded all the lists. Okay I'm going to overhaul the entire thing tomorrow morning then, I thought I'd already done that
Language Thing - German Speakers, please register here!
Kat - From H2G2 Posted May 6, 2005
Okay Vamster is now a speaking reseacher and a learning one...I'm a learning one...is there anything more whilst I'm on the account?

katkodl Posted May 6, 2005
Do we really have to be so strict about these categories? I mean, in my opinion if people take part actively in the speaking thread, then they should be registered as speaking researchers. Unless they are total beginners, and can't say more than "hallo" and "wie geht's?".

I think this is something we will discuss by email, preferably tomorrow
In reality the list doesn't matter, it just vaguely means that I can keep track of what's going on, it's mainly for my benefit to be honest.
