Outdoor Rock Concerts
Created | Updated Jan 28, 2002
Whether you think they are a great opportunity to see a large number of bands in one go, or a total rip of by a greedy promoter who couldn't be bothered putting on individual gigs as that would mean too much work, or both, the following rules shall apply, no matter where in the world the concert takes place:
It will be boiling hot
If it is not boiling hot it will be raining and therefore a mudbath
The water supply will not be working
The price of bottled water will put it at approximately the same value as liquid gold
......but still cheaper than beer
The bands will be running late
......and out of timetable order
If you only want to see 2 bands the whole day they will be playing at the same time
......half a kilometre apart
The promoter will have sold too many tickets
You didn't buy your ticket when they first came out 6 months ago
There are no tickets left
You have to pay a scalper 5 times the face value
Everyone else got theirs for a lot less
You will have to queue up to get in
...to get a drink
.....to get food
.......to go to the toilet (x4 if you are female)
.........to leave
It wasn't as good as last year
Or the year (insert name of formerly unknown band that now rules the world) played on the small stage
......in front of fifty people
You will do it again next year
