Fabric Softener Sheets: Not just for Laundry!
Created | Updated Jan 28, 2002
Take their nice smell for instance, this lovely smell (which varies with brand names and varieties within the same brand) can easily become an economical air freshener and odor suppressor. Hang a fabric softener sheet in an area where an air current exists; the air current will release the fragrant stuff on the sheets into the air and make your home smell wondie.
Try hanging a sheet loosely over the air vents of your microwave oven; every time you pop something in your nuker you'll send a lovely scent into the air and minimize any less desirable odors from flooding the room. Just make sure the sheet hangs loosely so it can flutter in the breeze; you certainly don't want to hamper air flow from your microwave oven and cause it damage.
How about sticking one of those multi-talented little pieces of cloth in or around your household trash bins; you know, the ones under the counter, in the corner of the kitchen, or wherever they might be? One of these sheets attached inside the lid or near the top lip of a trash bin will help freshen the air and will absorb odors for a week or two before needing replacement.
Hey, guess what! These things are also good for preventing and eliminating static cling and static electricity on the spot. Just lightly spritz the sheet (so that it is ever so slightly damp) with water and rub it on static charged clothing or any household object to eradicate and prevent static electricity.
Certainly, the list of uses goes on; what innovative uses can you think of for these little wonder sheets?
