The ancient kingdom of Lancre is under threat, it's king has been assassinated, and it's prince believes himself to be an actor.
The evil usurpers are brutal, and frankly weird. One of them wants to be a tree. But above all, the usurpers are trying to get the witches to pay taz. The witches.
The young prince must be found to ascend the throne, the Ghost of the old King that cannot leave the stone of his castle (although the stones of his old castle can leave the old castle) must be laid to rest, and it's naturally up to the witches to sort it out.
