Mehelium

Mehelium were an Adelaide four piece band that got together quite by accident during a party in November 1993. The band that was supposed to play at this particular party freaked out after taking large amounts of mind-altering substances. They stopped playing music to go wander outside and talk to trees and so forth.
Anyway, the party still needed music, so four people got up and started jamming, much to the delight of the party goers, who were also freaking out on mind-altering substances.
After the success of this initial jam, they decided to form a band, which became known as Walters Choice. The name changed to Mehelium during 1994, when they changed drummers from Ben Barnett to Dieter Linde.
The band then went about playing at heaps of parties in the Adelaide Hills, and built up a small following of friends. During 1994-95, the band played lots of pub gigs around Adelaide and recorded a demo tape at SAE.
The band broke up in 1995.
Mehelium were:
- Jane Nield (Vocals, Guitar)
- Daniel Taylor (Guitars)
- Ben Canham (Bass)
- Dieter Linde (Drums)
