why not a game?

So, I'm certain the question has been asked- why not make a h2g2 game?

I spent much of yesterday experimenting with a number of computer games, and most have proven completely unsatisfying to an adult head... for the most part they are all still shoot 'em ups, with rules and details so elaborate that it requires a substantial learning curve to play- but what on earth is the point of that if all you are doing is climbing to another level of shoot 'em up?
Somewhere this carnage must end!
What I would like is a sci-fi game where you got to get into a sleek silver spacecraft, with an amusing robot sidekick as co-pilot, and went tear-assing around the galaxy having adventures and encounters, sought out hidden treasures on deserted planets, had bizarre and fascinating conversations with creatures from other worlds... and most of all, not to have to shoot anyone!
