I have found no evidence to suggest that either of your assertions require elaborating on.

'I think you need to make more emphasis on his habit of self publicising and exaggeration.'

It is an undisputed fact that Lawrence was a shy man who only courted publicity to bring the arab problem to a wider audience. Once this was accomplished he spent the rest of his life seeking anonymity.

'It is often thought that a lot of the events that took place in the Seven Pillars of Wisdom were exaggerations or just out right lies.'

Could you point to some established sources? There is now plenty of documentation to back-up his personal account of events.

I think I have produced a balanced view of his life and writings and would need far more information from reliable sources before changing anything.

Don't misunderstand me I admire Lawrence and love your article its just that I'm sure I remember in the foreward to my copy of the seven pillars it talks about his exxagerations.

If I can find some evidence of it rather than just my humble memory I think you should put it in as it will add some extra balance to your (already) great entry!smiley - ok

I'll start to have a look around and check my copy tonight! smiley - smiley

These are interesting articles for a start, the second column of the first article mentions that 'Biographers will continue to treat some of Lawrence's claims with scepticism'

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've therefore moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.

If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.

Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!
