The Swan at Tockington, and Dragon Pie

1 Conversation

The Swan at Tockington is an old pub which dates back a few hundred years. It has many
fine ales to choose from, and does some very fine food. One of which is Dragon Pie, which
you should definitely try (although make sure that it is accompanied by a pint). Consisting
of a covering of cauliflower cheese and potatoes, underneath is a beef stew, but no
normal stew is this - it rates as one of the most calorific products in the world. Thoroughly
mixed in are chilli's, black peppercorns and green peppercorns. You certainly know that
your sweat production system is working after one of these. To get the full effect, make
sure that you go in the appropriate season, as chilli's from certain countries are hotter than
others, and a mid-winter Dragon Pie isn't as effective as a late-May version.
