Absinthe

There are numerous stories and fables surrounding this mysterious liquor originating from the secret, hygenically dubious stills of peasant folk across the European mainland.
I feel a certain clarification is required.
Absinthe is a generic term for liquor distilled from a variety of sources and flavoured with herbs, giving it it's distinctive green colour. The secrecy surrounding it's production methods has less to do with it's value or heritage, and more to do with the fact that it's brewers usually extensivly sample their product and are therefore are unable to cling to a coherent thought, let alone remember what agricultural surplus was tossed into the vat during it's manufacture.
It's appeal seems to stem from the stories of avant garde 19th centuary artists and philosophers swearing to it's potence in creating free thought, and is, of course, aided by the fact that that almost every European government has banned it's production or consumption.
All visitors hearing that it is the earthly equivilent of the Pan-Galactic Gargleblaster should be warned that this is untrue, as it bears little similarity. Wheras Absinthe will actively destroy living tissue (particularly brain tissue) is has never been seen to affect an individuals morphic field or transport an imbiber through time and space.
