Before I carry on - there are millions of things one could add. Wouldn't it be more sensible to create a list of things we'd like to see translated in different languages and then do those -- we could always add things if they tickle.......

Hi, audrey and thanks very much for your input.
This is just the first small step in something that will eventually (hopefully) build up into a really useful resource for anyone to communicate with in another language.

It is of course an ongoing project, and it would be nice to be able to count on your continued assistance with this and to include you as a translator for 'things itallian'.

Pleased to be of assistance. I'd love to be of help in this winderful project.....I'm very much in favour of keeping languages alive (instead of being englobed by some Europeanised version of English - currently researching on this for an entry). So yes, count me in.
Would most honoured to be the Italian translator of H2G2. I live here in Rome, so the phrases would have a Roman flavour...but then we can always get round to including regional versions as well....some day 
Will look at the german examples to flesh out the Italian...and add some more if I get round to it.
Keep up the good work! This is a great idea
