War poem

A time and place,
I shouldn't have been,
The bombs and killings,
I shouldn't have seen,

I lost my legs,
I cant walk no more,
I had no idea,
It was a bomb on the floor,

Covered in grass,
gave me such a surprise,
I didnt know I stood on it,
A bomb in disguise,

I was covered in blood,
didnt want to die,
just lying in that spot,
doing nothing but cry,

But I've cheated death,
and I'm still here,
the memories I have,
bring back a tear,

I've now got worse,
I'm condemed to my bed,
I'll end all my troubles now,
Because I know I'm now dead.
